University events may increase vehicular activity around the Danforth Campus. Stay informed and plan your Danforth campus event or visit accordingly.
Parking Enforcement Before, During and After Events
Washington University reserves the right to modify parking regulations and enforcement procedures at any time to maintain safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency. Certain locations may be subject to special or temporary restrictions, including limited access, time-based enforcement, or permit-specific requirements.
Event & Visitor Parking Arrangements
WashU organizations and departments that need to make visitor parking arrangements are encouraged to submit requests at least 10 business days in advance. Available space is not guaranteed. Approved requests will receive a confirmation email from the Parking & Transportation team.
Event Parking Requests
If you are hosting a larger scale event on the Danforth campus, we encourage you to call the team at 314-935-5601 or request event parking online for assistance with your arrangements. If you would like to reserve spaces for one or more guests attending a event or meeting on campus, please view our rates below.
- Red/Visitor designated spaces: $35 each
- Yellow spaces: $25 each
- Let-In service requested for reserved spaces: $25 per 30 minutes; per monitor required
If the requested reserved space is in a garage, it will also require a validation ticket to pay for parking upon exit.
Validation Requests
Validations are available by request to university departments for distribution to visitors. To request a validation, departments must fill out the Validation Request Form. Validation request will take one to two weeks for processing.
Validations are valid for the fiscal year and expire on June 30 of that fiscal year. Departments will incur charges for used validations for the amount of time the guest is parked.
Contractors and Vendors
Contractors and service providers requiring on-campus parking must have a university-issued parking permit or utilize daily/visitor parking. Those desiring a parking permit should contact their main University department contact to secure the correct permit.
As an event planner, I find comfort hosting events at the Knight Center because of the close & convenient parking, which is an important part of a great guest experience. Because of the way the Knight Center manages the parking needs of their guests at the level they do, I feel comfortable hosting events at any time of day, any day of the week the Knight Center has availability.
