WashU’s Guaranteed Ride Home program helps you get reimbursed for transportation during after unforseeable circumstances. If you use smart commuting options, you can access subsidized one-way rides home from campus during emergencies, sickness, or unplanned overtime.
Eligible Circumstances
- Sickness: personal, child, spouse or other immediate family member.
- Unscheduled overtime: when required to work beyond your normally scheduled hours without prior notice.
- Personal emergency: includes theft, fire or other personal emergency requiring immediate attention.
- Unanticipated absence of carpool driver: only for carpool commuters through RideFinders.
Note: The program cannot provide rides due to rescheduled appointments (such as doctor visits), acts of nature (such as a snowstorm or power failure), working late if you have at least one day’s notice, or inability to arrange transportation home due to day-to-day planning issues.
